DreamQuest Software Previews Version 6.0 of Online Card Games
Sneak preview highlights new characters and easier interface
Boulder, CO - December 19, 2003 - DreamQuest Software (http://dqsoft.com) has announced today its Sneak Preview for its upcoming 6.0 release of the Championship Pro line of card games. This release will include its new online gaming service, as well as major graphical changes such as an all-new set of in-game characters.
DreamQuest has received accolades for its beginner's tutorial, custom skin support, and advanced AI players - a series of eight challenging characters with varying skill levels and playful taunts. GDC honored DreamQuest as a 2002 IGF finalist for its creation of the first cross-platform wireless card game. This technology allows PC, Mac, PDA and cell phone users to play against each other live on the Internet.
"Our online play has been a mere component of our full-featured games," said Christopher Williamson, DreamQuest Software's president and CEO. "This new launch will expand our online game-playing community and is the natural evolution of our business."
Though DreamQuest has made significant revisions over the last few years, including incorporating GameSpy technology, this new launch will boast a more player friendly interface, a brand new graphical look and a new site address - to be announced in early 2004. Code named "Phoenix," this major step forward in technology will help the beginner player by offering a Getting Started section and host guides to answer questions. For the advanced player, there will be challenging daily tournaments and Case's Ladder will allow players to compete for top priority.
The purpose of the sneak preview is to give players the opportunity to experience all of the new features and benefits. The preview will demonstrate DreamQuest Software's new online gaming lobby and its new set of characters, including a rock star, a doctor, a model and an adventurer.
